Reporting Relations
- Accountable and Reports to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Manager of; Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Food Service Director; Market Grille Department Manager
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
- Greets customers and addresses them by name
- Assists customers with product retrieval and loading/unloading
- Passes along customer suggestions and requests
- Answers the telephone and takes product orders
- Ensures customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Checks and sets up production timelines
- Rotates and replenishes food display cases
- Addresses and resolves customer issues
- Orders and manages department inventory
- Ensures proper staffing levels
- Monitors and adheres to food safety guidelines
- Assists in monthly inventory processes
- Performs other job-related duties as required
Secondary Duties And Responsibilities
- Assumes management duties in absence of Department Manager
- Writes and calculates schedules and production amounts
- Trains employees in department duties
- Orders all products and supplies for the department
- Assists in other areas of store as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Instructs, assigns, reviews, and plans work of others
- Maintains standards, coordinates activities, and allocates personnel
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Worker Characteristics
- Solves practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interprets instructions
- Does arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Fulfills filing, posting, and mailing duties
- Interviews to obtain basic information; guides people and provides basic direction
Education And Experience
- High school or equivalent experience with Sanitation (Food Safety) courses encouraged
- One year of similar or related experience
Physical Requirements
- Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Exerts up to 20 pounds of force frequently
- Exerts up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Has vision from less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Has color vision, depth perception, and field of vision
- Is physically able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
Working Conditions
- Frequently exposed to a cool environment, dampness, noise from equipment, and vibrations from some equipment
- Possibly exposed to equipment movement hazards from slicers and choppers
- Daily exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents
- This is a fast-paced work environment
