About the role
This role assists with the direction of all activities at a single Branch location. Key responsibilities include ensuring a safety-first culture, controlling expenses, achieving operational excellence, managing the Branch in the absence of the Branch Manager, and supporting the successful management of branch operations and personnel.
Responsibilities
- Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Supports the successful management of branch operations and personnel
- Affirms the need for purchasing equipment through feedback from salesman, CSRs, customer feedback, vendor representatives, and marketing department product managers
- Affirms and modifies weekly sales plans and ensures they are carried out appropriately
- Ensures ongoing compliance with all statutory DOT and safety requirements
- Performs dispatching duties (if needed)
- Inspects Profit Center yard daily
- Ensures OSRs and CSRs are aware of slow-moving equipment
- Maintains an open line of communication with the Service Manager, making them aware of all equipment not available for rent
- Oversees team goals, making sure they are met/exceeded, and compliance of company standards are kept through daily management
- Fosters a customer-focused approach to sales and service while ensuring the Branch Yard, facility, and staff are professional and presentable
- Ensures accurate financial reporting and budget preparation as well as various reporting, including, but not limited to: daily contract reports, AP on hold/accrual reports, asset disposal report
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Proficiency in MS Office, with an emphasis in Excel and Outlook, and the use of computer applications
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Great attention to detail and solid organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- The ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
- The ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
- The ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and understand several abstract variables
- The ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- The ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
