Responsibilities
- Responsible for fostering a fun environment
- Be a gracious host to all guests and co-workers
- Promote a positive influence in the community and participate in company-sponsored events
- Monitor and supervise Sports Book team for adherence to company policies, procedures, Title 31 and minimum internal control standards, and applicable jurisdiction regulations and laws
- Close out ticket writers at the end of their shifts, ensuring that all money and supporting documentation has been accounted for and secured appropriately
- Verify cash drawers, complete reports, rate casino customer activity, and monitor sports book for suspicious activity
- Prepare and stock all the daily sports sheets
- Ensure compliance with currency transaction requirements, Title 31, and money laundering and Suspicious Activity Reporting for Casinos (SARC) requirements
- Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests as needed
- Notify leadership team of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity
- Approve and deny wagers from guests as permitted
- Maintain betting odds according to policy
- Handle guest disputes quickly and effectively within the level of their authority
- Aid in training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling employees
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and report potential issues to management
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
- Perform other job-related duties as requested
Requirements
- Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude
- Must enjoy hosting others
- Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required; one month of related experience in racing or gaming; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Cash handling experience required
- Must have a working knowledge of wagering and sports operations
- Must be able to obtain a Massachusetts Gaming License
- Ability to maintain professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to department and company standards
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs, and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in various work areas such as confined spaces
Qualifications
Starting salary at $50k (up to $55k based on experience) with opportunity for additional certification (additional 10% increase)
