Ski Haus & NOTB Snowboards is seeking an Assistant Manager - Ski Department position in Woburn, MA. The position offers competitive salary, commission opportunities, and benefits including a 401K plan, health care plans, and PTO policy.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for 10-15 direct reports in the winter season
- Oversees department operations including ensuring direct reports are trained and have everything needed to move product out the door and ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensures the highest level of customer service within; boot fitting, ski sizing, and communicating options
- Ensures the Service Shop is running smoothly and meets all requirements
- Ensures merchandise displays are well organized and displayed properly
- Handles warranties and special orders
- Handles customer complaints with poise and grace
- Aids the Store Manager in coordinating sales promotion activities
- Communicates regularly with the store manager and department's general manager and buyer to coordinate sales promotion activities
- Leads by example, is agile, has a consistent positive attitude, is solution oriented, and effectively drives the performance of team members
- Ensures every customer receives an exceptional experience
- Absolutely essential to have exceptional supervisory and management skills
- This is a physical position that includes lifting, standing for extended periods of time, and bending over
Requirements
- Agreement to stay on for a minimum of at least 1 full year, if prior experience in a ski shop/management is applicable. Agreement to stay on for at least 2 full years if there's limited prior experience in the position.
- An Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience or related experience may be substituted for formal education.
- Expert knowledge in the retail ski, snowboard, and skateboard industries including labor, customer service, merchandising, financial, people skills, and inventory controls.
- The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years' experience in retail sales for a company in the ski, snowboard, and skateboard industry.
- Avid skier or snowboarder
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to professionally deal with customers and employees
- Able to drive sales, multitask, and work in a high energy, fast-paced retail setting, able to handle complaints with poise, remaining polite and professional during extensive process of challenges
- Must work a full schedule for at least 5 days a week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
