About the role
As the Assistant Manager you will partner with the Center Manager to effectively run the center. Responsibilities include maximizing sales and minimizing costs to meet annual operating plan goals, motivating associates to achieve high customer-service standards, resolving complaints, staffing, safety, and assuming the lead role when the manager is absent. You will also develop, merchandise, bill, create invoices, control assets, and promote products and services.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Center Manager in the management of the location.
- Direct the activities of the store in the absence of the center manager, including managing associates to attain sales results and profit objectives.
- Assist the Center Manager with hiring, training, and managing associates.
- Support the sales and service departments.
- Operate the center in the absence of the center manager, ensuring compliance with company standards in operating procedures, policies, and protection of assets (inventory, accounts receivable, trucks, and equipment).
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Provide "Service Excellence, Always" to meet sales and service goals and customer needs.
- Communicate work assignments and responsibilities to associates.
- Assist the Center Manager in ensuring proper staffing levels with qualified personnel.
- Assist with managing safety, health, and environmental issues.
- Perform manual tasks for extended periods, including light and heavy lifting (commercial tires and wheels), standing, bending, and squatting.
Requirements
- Ability to relocate based on business needs and personal development for the role.
- One year of previous management experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Associate Degree in a related field (preferred).
- Strong oral and written communication ability.
- Commitment to follow all safety procedures and work safely.
- Able to work in a results-oriented, fast-paced team environment.
- Self-starter willing to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
- Willing to attend appropriate training sessions.
