Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Pay
Unlicensed candidates: $85,000 to $100,000 per year. Licensed candidates: $98,000 to $120,000 per year, depending on relevant years of experience.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the execution of compliance with policies and practices that ensure high-quality, cost-effective care consistent with Agency mission and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate quality improvement activities, including analysis of outcome and management reports; review, evaluate, and co-sign service documentation, where applicable.
- Partner with Manager in coordinating client care with Agency staff, other providers, and family members.
- Verify that services are integrated to meet client needs.
- Participate in program development to ensure responsive care.
- Monitor and support staff compliance with documentation standards; reinforce processes for maintaining orderly and complete clinical records.
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the program and its service delivery issues.
- Provide direct supervision of staff, as assigned; assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Provide professional mentoring to staff, including orientation and training.
- Coordinate the deployment of staff consistent with program needs.
- Provide direct services and back-up coverage for crisis responses and intervention, including on-call and after-hours assistance; provide crisis consultation to families, public, and law enforcement agencies.
- Review, evaluate, and co-sign service documentation, where applicable.
- Assist with special projects, including development of new service content, technology, or special events.
- Promote vigilance of cleanliness and safety of premises; direct staff or Facilities to address issues; contact Facilities maintenance as needed.
- Maintain effective relations with hospitals, outside case managers, and other community resources.
- Provide transportation in personal or Agency vehicle, including transport of clients and/or program supplies for Agency business.
- Participate in community, Agency, and team meetings and trainings, as requested.
- Participate in management of team/program discretionary resources to meet client needs.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree plus three years’ experience in a human service setting; OR Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience; OR Master’s degree plus one year of experience. (Appropriate related volunteer and internship experience considered.)
- Additional full-time, paid work experience may include:
- One year in a leadership role (desired).
- Degree in a related field and experience in a mental health setting (desired).
- Current licensure from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LMFT or LCSW) or the California Board of Psychology (PSY) may be required for some assignments (desired).
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Work independently and in a small team environment.
- Engage and communicate effectively in verbal and written English; carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Train, direct, and supervise staff; monitor and assess clinic services.
- Evaluate, monitor, and direct compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage multiple tasks and demands; effectively manage time and meet required timelines.
- Employ tact and diplomacy, exercise good judgment, and act calmly in emergency situations.
- Work from a strengths-based, harm-reduction, social rehabilitation model.
- Work effectively with persons of diverse value systems, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities, and disabilities.
- Work collaboratively with individuals with serious mental illness, including those with histories of hospitalization, institutionalization, substance abuse, low engagement in medication treatment, and difficulty participating in structured activities.
- Work with high-risk and underrepresented populations with multiple barriers.
- Exhibit exemplary customer service, compassion, and care in all duties and interactions.
- Experience working with participants who:
- May have histories of assaultive behavior (desired).
- May have resided in long-term care facilities for extended periods (desired).
- May have patterns of service relying almost exclusively on emergency and institutional care (desired).
- May have cognitive difficulties, medical co-morbidities, are medically fragile, or developmentally disabled (desired).
- May have long-term patterns of homelessness and criminal justice involvement (desired).
- Knowledge of:
- Clinical techniques for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental illness (desired).
- Problem resolution and conflict resolution techniques (desired).
- Applicable regulations, contract requirements, and methods of compliance (desired).
- Community resources to meet non-mental health needs of the target population (desired).
- Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) (desired).
- Special Requirements:
- Must pass a criminal records clearance as required by Title XXII, licensing regulations, and Agency practices.
- First Aid Certification or completion within 30 days of hire if assigned to residential facilities.
- Proficiency in typing/keyboarding (minimum 40 net wpm) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based databases; familiarity with UNIX-based databases (desired).
- Valid California Driver License, reliable vehicle access, current auto liability insurance, and clean DMV record.
- Physical requirements (with or without accommodation):
- Hearing and talking on telephone and in person; standing, walking, sitting, pinching, and finger flexion required constantly (over 2/3 of the workday).
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, crouching, and kneeling required occasionally (under 1/3 of the workday).
- Must be physically able to assist clients and/or staff in evacuating program facilities in emergency situations.
