This is a full-time, hourly position.

About the role

The Assistant Manager operates and supervises a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with the company’s mission statement and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach, and supervise non-management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate all projection and audio-visual equipment, including film handling (threading, building-up, tearing down) and maintenance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all systems within the facility, including booth and projection technology, maintenance, programming, TMS operation, and related projection skills.
  • Ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, including employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and accident reporting.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit, and reconcile all receipts (cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, discount tickets, etc.).
  • Comply with dress code policies.
  • Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM (Regal Operations Manual).
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and terminating employees (with oversight from the General Manager or senior management).
  • Administer all applicable HR paperwork and uphold company policies.
  • Control costs, including direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession/café stock, and managing inventory and auditing processes.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance (building and grounds), including minor repairs and coordinating qualified personnel for larger maintenance concerns.
  • Manage marketing and promotions for feature film engagements, schedule movie showtimes, and ensure timely delivery of showtimes to proper channels.
  • Read and understand training materials on subjects such as sexual harassment and discrimination.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or other senior managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (if not currently a high school student).
  • At least three months of supervisory experience, or 6 months of theatre experience with completion of the Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof (subject to VP approval).
  • If duties include selling/serving alcohol, must be of legal age and complete any legally required state or local training, as well as Regal’s Responsible Beverage Server training.

Skills

  • Language Ability: Strong public speaking skills. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with employees, vendors, and corporate staff. Listen effectively, respond clearly, and explain information to others.
  • Math Ability: Perform calculations with speed and accuracy, identify and correct errors.
  • Reasoning Ability: Identify problems, gather relevant data, evaluate information, recognize alternatives, and recommend solutions. Work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Computer and Office Skills: Proficient with PC platforms and basic office programs (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets). Operate copiers and other office equipment, maintain filing systems, and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Personal Skills: Interface effectively with customers, the public, and co-workers. Exhibit sensitivity to others' feelings, set goals, budget time, and prioritize tasks.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise employees, including training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, resolving problems, and disciplining employees (under the direction of the General Manager). May include interviewing and hiring.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$19.50 per hour.
