Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance concerns, workplace investigations, and policy interpretation.
- Counsels, educates, and guides business leaders through challenging conversations, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and involuntary terminations.
- Act as a resource for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Aid in the performance appraisal process by tracking deadlines, coordinating reviews, and providing support to managers in evaluating employee performance.
- Assist managers in the application of HR programs to departmental operations.
- Maintain accurate employee records to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics to support decision-making.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Utilize HR information systems to maintain employee records, generate reports, and track HR metrics.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support departmental HR needs, enhance organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Supervise non-exempt employees and provide additional training and coaching to ensure everyone performs their jobs efficiently and meets the department's goals.
- Leverage and improve HR processes to drive excellence and capability to deliver value for the business partners, organization, and members.
- Document system changes and ensure procedures are up to date.
- Absorb and implement HR policies, procedures, and services.
Qualifications
- Preferred: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
- Experience: 6-8 years of well-rounded experience in human resources, employee relations, leaves of absence, total rewards, performance management, employee engagement, and federal and state employment laws.
- Knowledge, Skills & Ability: Excellent conflict resolution skills, including significant experience leading and conducting internal ER investigations. Experience in managing a team is preferred. Proficient knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and compliance requirements. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work with all levels of employees and management. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels of employees, including management. Must have a thorough working knowledge of HR systems, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be highly organized and able to work in a deadline-driven, frequently changing environment.
