Assistant Manager (Group Homes) Queens and Manhattan
About the Role
AHRC New York City is seeking multiple Residential Assistant Managers for their Queens and Manhattan ICF and IRA Group Home residences. This role involves collaborating with the Residence Manager and other management team members to oversee all aspects of the community residential program.
Pay
$45,150–$50,400 per year, depending on residence placement. A $750 bonus is added to the base salary upon completion and passing of AHRC NYC's Defensive Driving class (if driving is required). Overtime is available when warranted.
Schedule
One weekend day each week is required, with two consecutive days off (either Fri/Sat or Sun/Mon). The weekly schedule consists of day and evening shifts, with no overnights.

Responsibilities
- Assist with ensuring ongoing compliance and quality assurance with State and Federal regulations applicable to the assigned facility.
- Provide direct supervision and guidance to direct support employees in the residence.
- Collaborate with the Residence Manager to complete mandated written evaluations of staff and oversee disciplinary actions for performance issues.
- Provide service coverage in accordance with staff scheduling, including filling in for shortages or emerging resident needs.
- Ensure smooth operations of the residence, including adherence to funder and agency policies on house/vehicle maintenance, fire safety, and resident/personnel files.
- Collaborate with the Residence Manager to plan individualized programs of services and care for residents, addressing daily and long-term needs while aligning with residents' interests, preferences, strengths, and capabilities.
- When assigned to oversee medical services, collaborate with clinical staff to monitor direct care activities, including medical records, appointments, medication administration, and referrals.
- Ensure each resident's basic needs are met, including food, clothing, personal hygiene items, and other necessities within the home environment.
- Serve as a liaison with the Treatment Coordinator to review the quality of active treatment services and residential habilitation outcomes, attending team meetings and evaluating activity schedules and documentation.
- Formulate and recommend new ideas to enhance the quality of each resident's life, in conjunction with the Residence Manager.
- Attend and complete mandated and skills development training courses.
