Assistant Manager - Full Time

Schedule: Operating hours are 6am to 9pm, 7 days a week. Schedules vary based on business needs. Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

About the Role

The Assistant Manager is a non-exempt, hourly frontline leader responsible for supporting daily site operations, driving membership sales performance, ensuring safety compliance, and supervising team members during assigned shifts. The Assistant Manager may independently open and close the site and provides real-time coaching and operational oversight.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Open and close the site in accordance with company procedures
• Oversee shift operations to ensure safe and efficient vehicle flow
• Monitor staff workflow and productivity during assigned shifts
• Ensure service standards and quality controls are maintained
• Monitor employee working hours and communicate overtime concerns to site leadership
• Maintain operational readiness of equipment and facilities

Team Supervision & Coaching

• Supervise team members during assigned shifts
• Provide informal coaching and performance feedback
• Reinforce company policies, safety procedures, and service standards
• Escalate formal disciplinary or performance matters to the General Manager or designated leadership

Sales & Customer Experience

• Engage with every guest to understand their car care needs and recommend the best service option
• Educate customers on wash services and unlimited membership packages, helping them see the value and convenience
• Build rapport quickly by picking up on cues about how customers use and care for their vehicles
• Provide professional service explanations
• Answer questions about services and help guests make confident decisions
• Escalate complaints or complex concerns to management
• Perform vehicle preparation and loading duties with demonstrated proficiency
• Operate designated tunnel controls as assigned
• Process customer transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system
• Maintain cash-handling accuracy and accountability
• Promote membership sales programs
• Maintain site cleanliness and safety standards
• Work closely with your team to deliver a seamless guest experience and support daily operational goals

Safety & Compliance

• Monitor work areas for hazards
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and the Company’s Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
• Ensure incident reporting procedures are followed

Requirements

• Prior leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and coaching skills
• Sales performance experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
• Frequently use hands and arms
• Occasionally lift and move items up to 50 pounds
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Exposure to water, cleaning agents, and operational equipment
