Assistant Manager- Day Habilitation

About the role

Ohel is seeking a reliable, personable individual who has the ability to multi-task to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every individual can thrive in our Day Habilitation Program in the Five Towns.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the direct supervisor to develop volunteer and skill-building opportunities that foster independence, enhance personal growth, and support individual goals
• Assist in the day-to-day functioning of a Day Habilitation Program, including arranging transportation
• Maintain and organize program supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available and appropriately stocked to support planned activities and needs
• Provide support to staff and individuals as needed, including implementing positive behavior strategies that promote safety
• Train, mentor, and supervise program staff
• Build positive relationships with families and collaborating programs
• Lead engaging activities that foster independent living skills
• Accompany participants to volunteer sites and community activities
• Review documentation and ensure timely follow-up

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred
• Valid NY or NJ driver's license with the ability to drive a 15-passenger van strongly preferred
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Eligibility for all benefits is based on hours worked, employment classification, and fulfillment of applicable waiting periods and plan requirements.

Pay

$50,000–$55,000

This is a full-time position located in the Five Towns.
