Assistant Manager

Job Description

The Assistant Manager drives profitable sales growth by fostering a retail selling culture through NECEAttains plan sales goals, comp store sales growth, and store goals. They increase customer transactions from retail staff overseen and coached, manage payroll cost effectively, and ensure gross margin compliance. They coach, develop, and motivate staff, ensuring adherence to training timelines. They oversee the sales floor, monitor NECE skills of retail staff, facilitate accountability discussions, and partner with the Store Manager on business direction.

To ensure quality exams and exceptional customer satisfaction, they ensure coverage and quality of hours, implement retail-selling initiatives, and recruit, train, develop, and retain associates. They also ensure effective merchandising and presentation of the store according to standards, execute planograms, maintain visual appearance, and adhere to brand standards.

Basic Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years as an Optical Associate
• 2+ years experience as an Optical Associate or high school diploma
• Proven track record of sales growth through sales skills and accountability for sales results
• Proven experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment
• Ability to facilitate, train, coach, and develop excellent, results-oriented, customer-oriented, retail/sales-oriented associates/teams
• Ability to recruit and select associates/teams
• Ability to present and implement decisive and creative solutions to issues/opportunities to grow the business
• Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations and foster positive and results-oriented associate and doctor relationships
• Success in store merchandising and attention to detail
• Ability to manage priorities through adaptability, willingness to take calculated risks, and follow-up

Pay Range

This posting is for an existing vacancy within our business. Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
