Description

The position reports directly to the store manager. The Store Assistant Manager is responsible for all aspects of customer relations and order processing, and assists the store manager in daily operations to control inventory, expenses, and staff.

  • Plan and assign daily goals, tasks, and assignments to staff members. Ensure proper completion through follow-up.
  • Aid in monitoring sales performance, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Manage all office tasks including managing funds and media, receiving, inventory, payroll, and writing the employee schedule.
  • Responsible for communication with all staff.
  • Have the ability to run the store in the manager's absence.
  • Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
  • Control shrink, expenses, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits, etc.
  • Continually evaluate and react to performance issues; complete and administer 90-Day and Annual employee reviews.
  • Train and develop store employees in all aspects of the business; direct and monitor training and development for all store personnel.
  • Ability to handle and resolve issues between employees and customers and/or among employees.
  • Maintain oversight of Accounts Receivable collections.
  • Willingness and ability to work additional hours (including weekends & holidays) as needed and travel to various company locations.
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a guest-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
  • Routinely contact and visit customers to foster improved communications and build upon relationships.
  • Monitor sales trends, pricing, and inventory levels and offer advice to the Store Manager.
  • Train and develop store staff, ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Make proper, necessary decisions when the Store Manager is unavailable.
  • Present a good image of the company through proper dress and attitude.
  • Participate in and complete company-sponsored and supported training.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems.
  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
  • Ability to read, count, and write accurately to complete all documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.
  • Must be dependable as a key holder.
  • Ability to open and close store as required.
  • Ability to balance books and do deposits as required.
  • Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
  • Attitude that supports the Company’s goals and values.

Experience Requirements

  • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience in automotive retail management and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
