About the Job

As an Assistant Manager, you are responsible for assisting with all store operations during your shift. This includes all cost controls, inventory control, cash control and customer relations. You must set the example. You must follow ALL policy and procedures 100% of the time and expect the same from your crew. In addition, you’ll be responsible for assisting the General Manager with all store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of store operations, including staffing and scheduling, general administrative duties, maintenance scheduling and reporting, and any other tasks needed to ensure successful day to day operation of the store
  • Safely operate all equipment
  • Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler
  • Prepare product to Domino’s standards
  • Receive and process telephone orders
  • Take inventory and complete associated paperwork
  • Make deliveries or assist on the makeline if necessary
  • Clean equipment and facility approximately daily
  • Other job-related duties as necessary to ensure smooth store operations

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to pass a background check and have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (subject to review of Motor Vehicle Report)
  • Must possess good navigational skills and be able to read/follow maps and locate addresses within designated delivery area
  • Must be able to navigate adverse terrain including multi-story buildings in order to deliver products if necessary

  • Ability to follow directives, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and well with others, work well under stress, meet strict quality control standards, provide excellent customer service, analyze and compile data, make good judgements and decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, including: the ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions, the ability to communicate verbally with customers to process orders both over the phone and in person, and the ability to successfully communicate with co-workers in a manner that is professional and respectful at all times

Work Conditions

  • Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when delivering product or distributing flyers and door hangers
  • Sudden changes in temperature in work area and while outside - In-store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90 degrees and above in some work areas
  • Fumes from food odors, including exposure to cornmeal dust
  • Compact work areas including walk-in cooler
  • Hot surfaces/tools including oven reaching 500 degrees or higher
  • Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts

Physical Duties & Requirements

  • Walking/Carrying/Climbing: Travel between the store and delivery vehicle and from the delivery vehicle to the customer's location; carry pizzas and beverages while performing walking and climbing duties; navigation of 5+ flights of stairs may be required during delivery
  • Driving: Use safe driving practices to deliver products within a designated delivery area; may make several deliveries per shift
  • Stooping/Bending: Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station (approximately 30-45 seconds at one time, repeated continuously); forward bending also at the front counter and when stocking ingredients; crouching and bending performed occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas
  • Reaching: Performed continuously up, down and forward; reach above 72" occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects; reach down to scoop cornmeal from plastic barrel or wash dishes; reach forward when obtaining topping ingredients, cleaning work surfaces, or answering phones
  • Hand Tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; use of hands continuous during the day; shaping pizza dough requires frequent and forceful use of forearms and wrists; manipulate pizza peel when removing pizza from the oven and when using rolling cutter; frequent and/or forceful pinching required in assembly of cardboard pizza boxes; grasp cans, pizza cutter, pizza peel, and pizza boxes
  • Sensing: Talking and hearing on telephone; depth perception as well as near and mid-range vision required for most in-store tasks; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces; far and night vision required for driving
