About the Role

This role requires strong communication, conflict resolution, problem-solving, time management, and teamwork skills. You will engage teams, cultivate improvement suggestions, make critical decisions, manage employee issues, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Engage teams and cultivate improvement and efficiency suggestions.
  • Act as a decision-maker and problem solver to maximize efficiency, manpower, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Manage employee issues, including job assignments, vacation scheduling, attendance monitoring, and performance goals; resolve minor disputes.
  • Notify plant management of any employee conduct requiring corrective or disciplinary action.
  • Plan, schedule, and maintain accountability for task completion within the work unit; assign roles accordingly.
  • Train and coach team members on work processes, safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Upgrade own skills by attending courses and seminars.
  • Audit team work to ensure it meets safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to complete assignments and meet objectives.
  • Ensure all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines are known and followed; provide required safety equipment and reinforce safety expectations.
  • Promptly address safety-related issues and coach teams on safety practices.
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations.
  • Perform departmental duties (mixing, filling, shading, warehouse, etc.) as a working team member.
  • Serve as backup to department lead when needed.
  • Utilize 5S and Continuous Improvement methodology to identify, implement, and sustain process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School degree required.
  • Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Ability to operate motorized material handling equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, and scissor lifts.
  • Competency and confidence using computerized systems such as MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and SAP.

Physical Effort and Dexterity

  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending/twisting of neck and waist, squatting, and kneeling.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects from floor, conveyor, vehicle, table, or overhead location.
  • Occasional lifting of 10-75 lbs. (1-3+ hours) throughout shift.

Pay

USD $28.20 - USD $34.35 per hour.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
