ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
- Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods.
- Operates, calibrates, checks, maintains instrumentation and recognizes and communicates with a certified medical technologist if there are any problems with quality controls.
- Performs test order entry accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts.
- Participates in medical technology learning models or technical development modules to ensure growth and development of the laboratory.
- Supports the team by providing assistance such as answering telephones, faxing reports, and reporting stat and critical value results.
SKILLS
- Decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
EXPERIENCE
- Required: Experience in clinical laboratory.
EDUCATION
- Required: Bachelor's in biology, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science.
- Position Type: Office- or Remote-based.
- Teaches / trains others: Occasionally.
- Rarely: Works primarily out-of-the office selling products/services (sales employees).
- No: Physical work site required.
- Lifting up to 10 pounds: Constantly.
