ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
  • Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods.
  • Operates, calibrates, checks, maintains instrumentation and recognizes and communicates with a certified medical technologist if there are any problems with quality controls.
  • Performs test order entry accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts.
  • Participates in medical technology learning models or technical development modules to ensure growth and development of the laboratory.
  • Supports the team by providing assistance such as answering telephones, faxing reports, and reporting stat and critical value results.

SKILLS

  • Decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Experience in clinical laboratory.

EDUCATION

  • Required: Bachelor's in biology, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science.

    • Position Type: Office- or Remote-based.
    • Teaches / trains others: Occasionally.
    • Rarely: Works primarily out-of-the office selling products/services (sales employees).

    • Lifting 25 to 50 pounds: Rarely.
