About the role

The role involves working cooperatively with the Kitchen Manager to ensure budget expenses are within limits, identifying and communicating ways to improve and streamline operations. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and safe facility, monitoring and overseeing food temperatures, communicating with vendors, assisting in ordering and receiving deliveries, and performing various kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and safe facility.
  • Makes sure food temperatures are monitored during handling to prevent foodborne illnesses.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Coordinates multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Assists in ordering food, produce, liquor, and supplies.
  • Performs and assists in all kitchen operations.
  • Works cooperatively with the Kitchen Manager to manage budget expenses.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate clearly.
  • Must have high levels of mobility and flexibility.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours under heavy stress and pressure during peak times.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
  • Must be able to fit through an opening 30 inches wide.
  • Requires frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
  • Requires continual standing and walking.

Qualifications

  • Basic skills such as sanitation, safety, and customer service are taught through in-house training.
  • Must possess a high level of coordination.
