About the role

The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions are integral to our mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. They are responsible for a wide range of tasks including sales, merchandising, and operational duties.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service.
  • Answer questions about the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
  • Use product knowledge and sales education to assist guests and share knowledge with other team members.
  • Manage and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Ensure consistency in personal sales and look for opportunities to enhance others' presentations using the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Meet or exceed sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by store management.
  • Investigate and navigate ways to expand guest selection through inventory management, advanced product searches, and iPad apps.
  • Maintain and build strong guest relationships to foster a client-based business model.
  • Coach and create relationships through guest loyalty and guest preferred programs.
  • Plan sales goals with store management and demonstrate ownership of store's sales performance.
  • Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet.
  • Show leadership actions during segments and demonstrate how to involve guests with product.
  • Execute actions with constantly changing sales focuses and identify and follow through on all team member training needs.
  • Own and influence product through zone ownership, assigning zones and projects to team members with specific learning goals.
  • Execute and demonstrate all new tools and videos related to zone ownership and take initiative in implementing zone ownership questions.
  • Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.
  • Exhibit ability to create changes to improve store's overall performance via the Performance Tracker.
  • Foresee and anticipate changes in product and act independently to improve overall visual results.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Follow all loss prevention guidelines, including daily bag and purse checks.
  • Appropriately handle calls from corporate offices.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of 6 months of retail experience. Previous experience in a similar position is preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19-$23 per hour.
