About the role
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions are integral to fulfilling our mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. These roles involve a wide range of responsibilities including sales, merchandising, and operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service.
- Answer questions about the store and its merchandise, recommend and select products, and assist with merchandise displays.
- Help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs and desires.
- Share product knowledge and sales education with team members.
- Adhere to sales and exchange policies, and promote security practices.
- Meet or exceed sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to achieve sales goals.
- Investigate and expand guest selection through inventory management, advanced product searches, and iPad apps.
- Maintain and build strong guest relationships to foster a client-based business model.
- Coach and lead new teammates, ensuring they meet and exceed Buckle's accountability, shift orientation, loss prevention, and sales presentation standards.
- Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet.
- Show leadership actions during segments and ensure the Guest is involved with product.
- Train and coach with the manager on all non-sales positions.

- Ensure sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.
- Execute and demonstrate all new tools and videos related to zone ownership.
- Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines, including daily bag and purse checks.
- Handle calls from corporate offices as necessary.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow professionally.
Qualifications

- Experience in retail or a related field is preferred.
- Passion for fashion and a desire to learn about product knowledge and showmanship.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay
The estimated base rate plus commission for this position ranges from $17 to $21 per hour.
