About the role

The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions at Buckle are integral to fulfilling our mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. These roles involve a wide array of responsibilities including sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, as well as leadership and training duties.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service
  • Answer questions about the store and its merchandise
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs
  • Use product knowledge to suggest additional items and create a wardrobing experience
  • Share product knowledge and sales education with Teammates
  • Adhere to and promote sales and promotion policies, including security practices
  • Meet or exceed sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals
  • Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to achieve goals
  • Investigate and expand Guest selection through inventory management and advanced product searches
  • Maintain and build strong Guest relationships to foster a client-based business model
  • Coach and lead new Teammates in achieving Buckle’s standards
  • Execute and train on Leadership Playbook
  • Manage and improve the store’s visual merchandising and operations
  • Support recruitment efforts and manage store staffing needs
  • Handle POS procedures and report security risks

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a passion for fashion and a desire to learn and grow professionally. Previous retail experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
