About the role
The Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager positions are integral to fulfilling Buckle's mission of providing the best shopping experience for guests. These roles encompass a wide array of responsibilities, including sales, merchandising, and operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide exceptional service.
- Answer questions about the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
- Share product knowledge and sales education with team members.
- Stay updated on current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets set by store management.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to meet or exceed performance standards.
- Investigate and expand guest selection through inventory management and advanced product searches.
- Maintain and build strong guest relationships to foster a client-based business model.
- Coach and lead new team members to ensure they meet and exceed Buckle’s standards.
- Execute actions from department calendars and track on the Weekly Delegation Worksheet.
- Show aptitude in recognizing merchandising opportunities and improving overall store performance.
- Work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Follow loss prevention guidelines and handle security risks.
- Handle calls from corporate office professionally and maintain a positive attitude.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a passion for fashion and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic retail environment. Previous experience in retail, particularly in a sales or managerial capacity, is preferred but not required.
