We’re looking for a friendly, proactive, and detail-oriented Assistant House Manager to help ensure our patrons enjoy a safe, welcoming, and unforgettable visit— from the parking garage to curtain call. Key responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patrons throughout their theater experience.
- Collaborate with Stage Management and Box Office teams to ensure smooth and timely performances.
- Support patrons with special needs and ensure accessibility and safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of lobbies and theater spaces.
- Respond to any facilities needs during performances.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of Front of House equipment (e.g., ticket scanners, assistive listening devices).
- Help coordinate accessibility services (e.g., ASL interpretation, audio description and closed captioning).
- Aid in event setup, coordination, and breakdown.
- Secure theater premises post-performance.
- Help the House Manager ensure performances start on time.
- Act as a liaison between Front of House and backstage teams.
- Take on special projects as assigned by the House Manager or Operations team.
Qualifications
- A love of live theater and a desire to be part of a collaborative, creative environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional weekdays or holidays.
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or event management is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Calm under pressure and able to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and Audience Concierges.
- Basic computer literacy (email, internet).
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working with diverse communities and individuals with disabilities is a plus.
Physical requirements
- Regularly stands or walks for extended periods.
- Comfortable with navigating stairs and moving throughout the theater.
- Frequently lifts or moves items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent talking, listening, and engaging with patrons.
