About the role
The Assistant House Manager plays a critical role in supporting the administrative and operational coordination of the Residential Unit. This position works closely with the House Manager to help develop, implement, and maintain unit policies and procedures, while ensuring that staff and clients remain informed of all agency and departmental guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of unit policies and procedures.
- Ensures staff and clients are informed of all agency and departmental guidelines.
- Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the unit by supporting staff performance, maintaining program quality, and responding appropriately to emergencies or critical incidents.
- Provides direct supervision and guidance to children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and respect in all interactions, while maintaining a strong, consistent focus on safety and well-being.
- Remains actively aware of each child’s daily status, progress, and emerging concerns, ensuring timely communication and intervention when needed.
- Differentiates between discipline and punishment and looks beyond surface behaviors to understand and address underlying needs.
- Buils trusting, supportive relationships with youth to implement individualized treatment plans and deliver effective unit programming.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours plus 3 years of work experience with children is required, OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Mental Health or Human Services field plus 1 year of work experience with children is required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to clear physicals/trainings to fully perform restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are physically threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others.

- Schedule: Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday (evening shifts, typically 3PM-11PM)
- Competitive Pay: Hourly - $23.75-$24.75 (Annually $49,000-$51,480 -- overtime available)
