Assistant Girls Swimming Coach - Smoky Hill High School

Duties And Responsibilities

• Reports to the head coach and the high school athletic director.
• Serves as a supervisor for all aspects of their level of the program under the direction of the head coach.
• Provides the head coach with information about their level of the program, including scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns, and procedures.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment for their level of the program.
• Schedules and attends practice sessions, developing and implementing individual and team training plans as needed.
• Makes sure each athlete is cleared by the athletic office before participating.
• Complies with rules and regulations set by CCSD, Centennial League, and the Colorado High School Activities Association.
• Maintains oversight of athlete's attendance, behavior, and academic status.
• Uses approved first-aid and CPR skills.
• Understands the signs and symptoms of concussion and knows how to remove players exhibiting such symptoms.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications

• Assist with the organization and development of the high school program.
• Basic knowledge of girls swimming.
• Possess or have the ability to acquire a valid Colorado Coaching Certificate.
• Successfully pass the CHSAA coaches test, obtain CHSSA coaching registration, and complete a concussion course per State Legislation and CHSAA By-Laws.
• CPR & AED Certification required.
