Assistant Girls Cross Country Coach

About the Role

White Bear Lake Area High School is seeking a dynamic, highly qualified candidate to serve as assistant cross-country coach. The role reports to the Head Varsity Girls Cross Country Coach and the Athletics/Activities Directors, who provide overall objectives and observe performance.

The coach will instruct student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to foster individual and team success, while also promoting moral values, pride in accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and confidence. A strong knowledge of the sport’s technical aspects and the ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders are essential.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and promote the Minnesota State High School League "Code of Ethics" to ensure fair play.
• Fulfill all duties expected of an assistant coach.
• Attend all competitions and training sessions regularly.
• Instruct student-athletes on rules, rule changes, and innovative coaching techniques.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of rules and regulations set by the Minnesota State High School League.
• Align with the educational and athletic philosophy and objectives of White Bear Lake Area Schools.

Requirements

• Successful high school and/or collegiate-level coaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Commitment to developing and maintaining positive relationships between the cross-country program and the local community.
• A valid Minnesota coaching certificate or alternative qualifications.
