Assistant Geologist

About the role

Joining Terracon as an Assistant Geologist is a great opportunity to launch your career while gaining hands-on field experience. You'll spend a significant amount of time outdoors performing soil and groundwater sampling, logging field observations, and supporting environmental and geotechnical investigations.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Perform sampling and testing of water, soil, and other materials.
• Tabulate and prepare data for written reports.
• Assist with report preparation by summarizing data and information within reports.
• Operate field monitoring equipment.
• Assist with operation and maintenance of remediation and instrumentation systems.
• Transport material, samples or documents to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
• Maintain and calibrate field monitoring equipment.
• Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments.
• Evaluate moderately complex laboratory and field data and assemble in written reports.
• May assist more senior Geologists on large, more complex projects.
• May serve as team member or participate in meetings and communications with client pertaining to specific projects/tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field.
• Preferred qualifications include certification in field of expertise.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.

Pay

Maximum Salary: $26.75

Minimum Salary: $22.25
