About the role
Hai Hospitality is seeking an experienced Restaurant Assistant General Manager to join their dynamic team. Reporting to and working closely with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager, this role focuses on providing exceptional dining experiences for guests and guiding the Front of House (FOH) service team.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction
- Oversee the FOH staff, providing guidance and direction
- Collaborate with the Assistant General Manager and General Manager to maintain high standards of service and quality
- Assist in managing the restaurant's financial performance and inventory
- Identify and address safety concerns, adhering to safety guidelines and standards
- Perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and restocking, maintaining a neat and organized workspace
- Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, adapting to varying temperatures and conditions
- Communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers, understanding and following directives
Requirements
- Previous management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant setting
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Exposure to P&L reporting, inventory procedures, and strong food and beverage knowledge preferred
- Emotional intelligence, ambition, and deep passion for hospitality
Qualifications
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to detect and address safety issues, complying with safety guidelines and standards
- Physical capabilities to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature conditions, both hot and cold
- Safe and efficient use of kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, and knives
- Maintain a neat and organized workspace, properly storing supplies and cleaning surfaces
- Quick response to customer needs, moving quickly and efficiently
- Tolerance for exposure to potential allergens and food odors
- Professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming
