Assistant General Manager-Panera
About the role
OU Food Services-Panera is seeking a motivated and experienced Restaurant Assistant General Manager (PM) to support evening operations at their location within the Oklahoma Memorial Union.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the overall operation, administration, and performance of daily restaurant activities, ensuring efficient service, strong financial performance, and an exceptional guest experience.
- Works closely with the General Manager to oversee staff, maintain compliance with franchise and health standards, and support a high-performing team environment during PM operations.
- Enforces sanitation and complies with health and legal regulations.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment.
- Schedules employees and forecasts staffing needs.
- Purchases food and supplies, supervises production, and develops menus.
- Manages full-time and student employees, including hiring, firing, training, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Provides information, clarifies policies and procedures, facilitates service, and resolves problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- 4 years of food service and restaurant supervision experience.
Qualifications
- Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
Skills
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Certification within first 12 months of employment.

Pay
Targeted salary: $22.00 hourly, based on experience.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 11:30AM-8:00PM; Will include working home football game days, position is essential/may be required to work during campus closures.
Travel
May be required.
