About the role

Jared is a division of Signet Jewelers, a company dedicated to inspiring love through jewelry. The Assistant General Manager oversees all operations in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring customer satisfaction, achieving sales targets, and managing staff.

Responsibilities

• Assumes General Manager duties in their absence
• Maintains customer satisfaction by prioritizing customer needs
• Achieves store sales projections
• Maintains standards and focuses on associate performance
• Enforces policies and controls store expenses and payroll
• Trains and supervises sales, office, and inventory personnel
• Monitors inventory control and store maintenance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Completion of Information Security Privacy Awareness Quiz and Safety First Quiz
• No recent Code of Conduct counseling
• Meets or exceeds previous performance appraisal requirements
• Completes Minimum Training Requirements and passes quiz
• Completion of Diamontology and GIA Gemology courses
• Ability to achieve outstanding sales performance
• Positive, enthusiastic attitude and willingness to work under supervision
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to work various shifts to cover store operations

Qualifications

• Completion of all required training modules
• Ability to enforce and understand store policies and practices
• Knowledge of merchandise features and benefits
• Understanding of sales, credit, administrative, and security policies
• Ability to persuade and influence others
• Ability to monitor and manage inventory and store maintenance
• Ability to perform minor repairs and execute merchandise displays

Pay

$16.50 – $21.00 per hour plus commission on sales

Schedule

During non-peak periods, aim for a five-day, 40-hour work week. Schedules should balance operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, and proper store coverage. Shifts should be scheduled throughout the week to coach, train, and develop the team. Hours may increase during peak selling periods.
