Assistant General Manager
Core Responsibilities
- Aid in supervising, training, and evaluating drivers, helpers, and dispatch staff.
- Oversee outbound load scheduling, routing, cross-dock activities, and manifest execution.
- Act as the primary liaison between e-commerce clients, traditional brick-and-mortar stores, and the end consumer.
- Address and resolve delivery or scheduling issues.
- Enforce federal, state, and corporate safety regulations. Audit driver logs and ensure vehicle compliance.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like on-time delivery percentages, revenue per truck, and idle reduction.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred, though relevant work experience is often considered.
- Experience: Typically requires 2–3 years of transportation, dispatch, or fleet management experience. Supervisory experience is highly desired.
Skills
- Strong proficiency in logistics software, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and dispatch portals.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Pay
The expected starting pay range for this position is $65,925.60 - $87,900.80 annualized salary. Offers determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
