Assistant General Manager

Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the sales floor, demonstrating best practices in customer interactions.
- Coach and motivate team members one-on-one to elevate their performance.
- Handle daily operational tasks and lead the team in the General Manager’s absence.
- Resolve customer issues and assist with transactions.
- Set and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals for the team.
- Train and mentor staff to deliver an outstanding customer experience, managing customer flow and store traffic.
- Identify skill gaps in selling and implement development plans to exceed sales metrics and quotas.
- Run store operations: analyze staffing needs, report financial and sales data, handle cash, ensure compliance, and open trouble tickets with Facilities/Network/IT to maintain store functionality.
- Monitor inventory: restock shelves, maintain device security, and ensure store cleanliness.
- Lead store merchandising and planogram compliance according to company standards.
- Complete store opening and closing activities.
- Work collectively to meet daily, weekly, and monthly store targets.
Requirements
- Background in customer service within retail, restaurant, or wireless industry (preferred).
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or leadership role.
- Management experience in a commissions-based sales environment.
- Proven track record of achieving challenging team and individual sales goals.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience setting goals, evaluating performance, and developing high-performing teams.
- Basic interview skills and staffing knowledge.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One or more years of customer service experience, preferably in retail or sales.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak periods (e.g., November–December).
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to ten pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Training Requirements
- Complete a 4-day New Hire University (NHU) training program within 30 days of start date (may include overnight travel at company expense).
- Complete a 3-day General Manager University (SMU) training program within 30 days of completing NHU (may include overnight travel at company expense).

Pay
Assistant General Managers earn a national average annual salary of $43,000 to $67,000, combining a base hourly rate of $19.73 plus uncapped commission.
