About the role
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) serves as a critical linchpin between strategic leadership and operational execution. Partnering closely with the General Manager, this role provides operational oversight, ensures seamless workflow across departments, and drives organizational goals within a dynamic logistics environment. The AGM directly impacts operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and organizational growth by leveraging technology, optimizing processes, and mentoring teams. This position is essential to aligning day-to-day operations with the company's broader mission of delivering value-added services that elevate client success through superior supply chain solutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily organizational operations by managing resources, streamlining workflows, and ensuring alignment with corporate priorities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor cross-departmental teams through effective hiring, training, performance management, and resource planning, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure exceptional customer experience by addressing client inquiries, resolving escalated issues promptly, and upholding Unis' commitment to service excellence.
- Collaborate in budget planning, monitor financial performance, identify cost optimization opportunities, and recommend strategic adjustments to meet profitability goals.
- Analyze key performance indicators, customer feedback, and operational data to identify challenges, recommend corrective strategies, and improve processes in line with business objectives.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational management, preferably in logistics, supply chain, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Proven expertise in operational efficiency improvement, financial budgeting, and analysis of key business performance metrics.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations and compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or similar logistics and supply chain technologies.
- Proven track record in implementing process optimization strategies that resulted in measurable business growth.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools to evaluate performance trends and operational improvements.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
