Assistant General Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for training and hiring of Hotel Departmental Staff; this includes Guest Service, Housekeeping, Spa and Maintenance. Ensuring outstanding guest service and associate satisfaction as well as bottom line results, managing all aspects of the hotel in the General Manager's absence. This individual will report to and communicate with the General Manager on a frequent basis.
Direct Responsibilities for Assistant General Manager
- Front office operations to include concierge, bell & door man services, provide assistance with administration for the whole hotel.
- Spa operations include therapists and reception staff.
- Rooms division operations to include Housekeeping and Maintenance.
- (Management and Director reporting of the Sales Coordinator & F&B managers are not included in the responsibilities of the AGM.)
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview and Hire Guest Service Representatives, Spa Therapists, Spa Receptionists, Housekeeping and Maintenance positions.
- Provide training and mentoring of GSR’s and Receptionists. Maintain service standards of Averill Hospitality & AAA four diamond levels.
- Resolve guest complaints and service recovery process.
- Controls and approves Hotel Departmental labor and payroll.
- C conducts employee performance reviews and conducts personnel action plans for disciplinary actions and termination as required.
- Maintains accurate records including Guests Checked out with Balance, AR Ageing reports, Direct *Billing and Night Audit Balancing, reservation auditing, discount log & association training logs.
- Have monthly team meetings/training.
- Adheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures.
- Ensure full compliance to AH and Departmental operating controls, SOP’s, procedures and service standards.
- Ensure that all departmental shifts are covered according to labor guidelines.
- Order all required hotel office supplies, Front Desk Operating Supplies, spa, housekeeping and maintenance supplies/stocked in advance of need.
- Ensure Hotel staff are provided with uniforms and names tags and upholds property grooming standards.
- Be available to respond to any guest or employee emergencies.
