Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Answers directly to the General Manager.
- Supervises and oversees all hotel associates in cooperation with the GM.
- Insures Guest Survey scores are above Brand system average and takes action when necessary to correct them.
- May put into place action plans, use coaching, counseling techniques to insure the highest possible score is obtained.
- Supervises Guest Service, working with GSM and GSR's to insure proper procedures are in place and service to guest is excellent.
- Works with Executive Housekeeper, GSM, and Chief Engineer to take insure any issues are taken care of immediately and that tools are in place to do so.
- Aids in Hiring and Separation decisions/procedures.
- Attends Breakfast, meetings and interacts with guests as required.
- Is involved in all interviewing of candidates for any position of the hotel.
- Works in any department as needed in the absence of the department head or if department requires additional support.
- Leads the orientation of new associates including, property tours, training programs, and all other aspects of new hire support.
- Aid in payroll, Human resources and Time and Labor.
- Works with all department heads with scheduling, training, supplies, compliance and process improvements.
- Daily guestroom and property inspections.
- Assists in the preparation and follow up of Sales and Marketing Plan, Budget and month end reporting.
- Sees that all requests of Corporate Office are met on time.
Qualifications
- College Degree in Hospitality management or equivalent preferred.
- Must have at least two years of hotel experience as a sales manager, guest service manager or operations manager.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees and supervises all associates on the property reporting only to the General Manger.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to drive, walk, speak, hear, see and do moderate physical activity as required.
- Must be able to communicate professional in English both oral and written.
Training
- Must meet all Brand and Corporate training as required in a timely manner.
Decision Making
The AGM may make any and all decisions necessary for the successful operation of the hotel in the absence of the GM. The AGM has no authority to sign contracts or bind the hotel to any agreement other than that which the corporate office has allowed by written policy. This would include those of a sales, banquet, or meeting room nature only.
Financial Responsibilities
- The AGM is responsible for the achievement of top line revenues and bottom line profits as outlined in the Sales and Marketing Plan and on the Hotel Budget.
- He/she is responsible for any cash signed for and is to see that all bank deposits are completed daily.
Communication
- Must be able to communicate professionally in English both written and Oral.
- Must be able to use a computer, use Microsoft Office, Sales Pro and be able to learn other tools should they become available.
