Assistant General Manager

About the role

Mister Car Wash is hiring for an Assistant General Manager in Training (AGMIT) – an accelerated development program designed to prepare you for the Assistant General Manager position. The program is typically completed in about 14 weeks and equips you with hands‑on experience, business acumen, and mentorship needed to lead with confidence. You’ll work closely with an experienced Certified Trainer to learn the fundamentals of daily operations, understand performance data, strengthen team development and coaching skills, support staffing and recruitment, and learn basic functional and mechanical skills to maintain the facility and meet customer quality expectations. This role is a launchpad toward ultimately leading your own location as a General Manager, built on the core values of We Care, Work Hard, and We Have Fun.

Responsibilities

• Learn the fundamentals of daily operations, from opening and closing routines to quality, safety, and maintaining a smooth site flow.
• Understand performance data and make decisions that drive results.
• Strengthen team development, coaching, and performance management skills.
• Support staffing, recruitment, and employee relations.
• Learn basic functional and mechanical skills that will help you maintain your facility and meet customer’s quality expectations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of proven leadership experience leading a team, supervising shifts, or managing people in a customer‑facing environment.
• Understanding of high‑volume retail or service operations, including how to deliver consistent, high‑quality customer experiences.
• Initiative and ability to lead by example, modeling company values while driving performance, motivation, and accountability.
• Skill in coaching and developing others: giving clear feedback, building confidence, and helping team members grow into new responsibilities.
• Ability to stay organized and focused in fast‑moving environments with competing priorities.
• Enjoy working with people, bring positivity to every interaction, and feel energized working outdoors in a fast‑paced setting through all weather conditions.
• Adaptability, curiosity, and excitement to grow into a leadership role in a rapidly expanding, people‑first company.
