About the role

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) will drive operational excellence across the Front Office, Housekeeping, and Maintenance departments under the guidance of the General Manager. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional looking to advance into full property management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all brand standards are maintained in each area of the property.
  • Assists in overseeing the operation of all property departments.
  • Promotes both Guarantee of Fair Treatment and Open-Door policies.
  • Provides a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA/MSDS.
  • Affords support and development to team members.
  • Supports the GM and Ownership with finance and accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, payroll, ordering procedures, end of period, and banking procedures.
  • Reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and assists in determining areas of improvement.
  • Performs QA audits to ensure Brand Standards are met.
  • Creates a safe, energized, and positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, Business Administration, or Management or similar degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years’ guest service/hotel experience with at least two to three years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Previous select service experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • F&B Experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Must speak fluent English, additional languages a plus.

Qualifications

  • Work schedule varies and may include working evenings, holidays, and weekends shifts.
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

Skills

  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
