About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Assistant General Manager to support daily operations across our specialty retail, café, and foodservice offerings. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while delivering exceptional service and maintaining Reid’s standards of quality, hospitality, and professionalism. The ideal candidate brings a positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and prior management experience in foodservice, retail, or hospitality, with the ability to engage both guests and team members to create a welcoming and memorable experience.

- Find qualified talent for open positions and foster the growth of your restaurant employees.
- Develop business solutions that make operations better (not just easier).
- Initiate community outreach to boost awareness, sales, and your restaurant’s reputation.
- Order product for the store.
- Maintain a labor budget and keep up with food costs and waste to specified goals.
- Maintain communications with general manager, executive chef, and all delivery drivers.
- Ensure quality is up to Reid’s Fine Foods standards.
- Assist with monthly inventory count.
- Help with scheduling for the store.
- Ensure guests receive the best service possible, staff follows policies, and employees work to the best of their abilities.
- Assist the general manager with interviewing and training processes.
- Assist the general manager with disciplinary actions.
- Understand food safety and sanitation; Serve Safe certification is required for this position.
- Manage time appropriately.
- Work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve situations to the customer’s satisfaction.
Requirements
- Previous management experience.
- Dependable, detail-obsessed, and open to constructive feedback.
- Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities daily.
- Exceptional communication skills—written and verbal.
- Desire and natural ability to engage guests—exuding an infectious commitment to guest service each and every day.
- Ability to show up to work on time.
- Ability to communicate any need for time off; requests must be submitted two weeks in advance and cannot be made between November 1st and December 31st.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
- Ability to stand/walk for 8 or more hours per shift.
- Ability to check in orders and communicate with delivery drivers properly.
- Ability to understand monthly margins and inventory expectations.
