General Manager Overview
The Role
Green Thumb is committed to enhancing well-being through cannabis. We seek an Assistant General Manager for our RISE Dispensary to support the General Manager in managing operations, team dynamics, and customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all dispensary operations to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Motivate team members to execute programs, initiatives, and in-store promotions effectively.
- Oversee inventory management, financial records, and Seed to Sale compliance.
- Ensure appropriate cash management, handling protocols, and daily reconciliations.
- Implement effective order and expense management processes aligned with store budgets.
- Coach and motivate team members to deliver memorable, positive customer experiences.
- Lead by example and set the rhythm for effective “Leader on Duty” shifts.
- Execute a seamless omni-channel customer experience and lead teams to deliver consistency across in-store, drive-thru, curbside, and delivery services.
- Coach team members to achieve loyalty goals, drive customer retention, and increase repeat traffic.
- Serve as a liaison to the local community and support community outreach events and initiatives.
- Build and retain a high-performing team through effective onboarding, training, and development.
- Support a culture of engagement and performance through coaching, feedback, and recognition.
- Motivate the team to exceed revenue targets and key metrics, emphasizing team member behaviors, service techniques, and product knowledge.
- Execute hourly scheduling to align with business needs, hours targets, and team member availability.
- Hold team members accountable for accurate timekeeping, schedule compliance, and reliability.
- Develop leaders and team member talent and address performance issues promptly.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- At least three years of managing teams in a retail setting, specifically with POS business operations.
- Cannabis experience preferred.
- Inventory control experience preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, days, nights, and weekends.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must pass required background checks.
- Must have a valid driver's license or state ID.
- Must understand and comply with Green Thumb's rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Must have a solid understanding of cannabis laws, rules, and regulations.
- Proactive, with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and strong communication and leadership skills.
- Meet timelines consistently and work under pressure.
- Open to constructive, developmental feedback and maintain composure in difficult situations.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams.
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking.
- Operates with professionalism and integrity, including handling confidential information and complying with HIPAA requirements.
- Able to resolve conflicts, handle employee and customer complaints, and settle disputes.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to perform tasks for prolonged periods, including moving inventory and materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Position self to move inventory and materials in storage areas.
Working Conditions
- Patient and/or customer-facing environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions.
- Exposure to cannabis and/or allergens that might be present in an environment where cannabis is prevalent.

Pay Range
The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
Green Thumb Pay Range: $60,000 - $70,000 USD
