Assistant General Manager

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze P&L statements
• Provide GAS3 selling experience for DIY and DIFM customers
• Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
• Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs
• Ensure high standards of customer service, including prompt handling of complaints for product and operational standards
• Perform manager-on-duty responsibilities: coaching, floor/phone management, task assignment, safety, and open/close duties
• Participate in the weekly scheduling process
• Locate and stock parts
• Execute and train advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendations
• Source parts from numerous places including special order, FDO, and second source
• Execute and train all store operational processes, procedures, testing, and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
• Execute and train inventory systems and store equipment
• Execute and train POS and parts lookup systems

Requirements

• Working knowledge of automotive systems preferred
• Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and upper management
• Proficient in Microsoft software (Word, Excel required; PowerPoint preferred)
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, percentages, sales increases, and gross profit percent
• Ability to review and analyze business reports, such as profit and loss statements
• Hold others accountable, inspect work quality, and provide inspiring feedback
• Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
• ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
• Safety knowledge and skills
• Parts and automotive system knowledge

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area preferred)
• 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10–20 team members in a fast-paced, highly dynamic retail environment
• Successful experience managing profitability; proven financial and business acumen

ASE Certification preferred but not required.

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to weather conditions for tasks like battery and wiper blade installation
• Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high or precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
• Moderate noise level in the work environment

Pay

Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.
