The resort prides itself on creating and delivering fun and escapism for all guests and staff and is looking for an Assistant General Manager who will champion that culture every day.

About the Role

Provide guidance and leadership to the Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, and Engineering Departments, ensuring consistent compliance with hotel policies and quality guest service. Responsible for oversight of all department functions related to hotel operations and for the ongoing success of hotel operations during—and in the absence of—the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies accuracy of cashiers’ deposits and prepares them for a daily bank deposit.
  • Performs administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  • Produces accurate and timely reports relative to service scores, expense control, and other areas as requested by the General Manager.
  • Verifies accuracy of cash on hand, including safe, petty cash, and logs any discrepancies on a daily basis.
  • Prepares and delivers “daily reports” for the hotel and transmits them to Hotel Partners’ executive team.
  • Establishes a service-focused culture through leading daily meetings with front office staff, maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of all hotel systems including phone PBX system, key system, PMS systems, and Diverse programs.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures.
  • Must have good knowledge of the surrounding area, strong people and telephone skills.
  • Ensures security of guests, fellow employees, and hotel assets.
  • Must be CPR certified, MSDS trained, and complete brand-specific training program.
  • Know and adhere to Diverse and Margaritaville brand-specific standards.
  • Must have knowledge of M3 accounting system.
  • Maintains a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and personal appearance.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor at all times and leads by example.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers in a positive, professional, and accommodating manner.
  • Prepares month-end reporting as requested by the General Manager.
  • Keeps confidential the business functions of the company, including financial status, customer/guest information, and employee issues.
  • Performs any other required duties as requested by the General Manager to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests, team members, and the community.
  • Familiar with and adheres to Diverse and Margaritaville standards as outlined in handbooks and other policies/rules of conduct, including personal appearance/grooming, attendance, and safe/efficient operations.
  • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
