Responsibilities
- Contribute value as a member of the Legal Department
- Provide effective legal advice, counsel and advocacy to V2X's business and functional areas
- Support V2X's strategic and tactical legal and compliance initiatives
- Provide effective advice on legal considerations of V2X's business strategies and their implementation
- Provide daily advice and counsel on issues involving government contracts, general business, and domestic and international business transactions
- Identify critical legal issues, appropriately balance risk and business strategy, and convert legal recommendations to actionable advice for program and other personnel
- Develop relationships with and influence internal and external stakeholders
- Advises on strategy at the highest level while also diving into the weeds, directly handling legal work when necessary
- Handles privacy issues, IP and Data rights, and Service Contract Act
- Drafts and/or reviews the negotiation of business contracts, leases, and consulting agreements
- Supports the organization in providing legal advisement, business risk analysis, and communications with regulatory bodies, as required
- Contributes to the design of Company practices, policies, and oversight efforts in contract compliance
- Interprets and disseminates information on proposed or actual legislation and regulations, with emphasis on government contract law
- Maintains strict compliance with V2X policies and procedures relating to our Business Ethics and Code of Conduct, in addition to specific procurement regulations established by the federal government
- Perceives the legal function as an integral contributor to the success of the organization
Qualifications
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Member in good standing with a state bar association.
- Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years' of legal experience, with a preference for candidates who have gained experience in law firm and in-house roles with a practice area emphasis in government contracts. Broad legal experience with contracts and commercial and corporate transactions, as well as demonstrated familiarity with the FAR and DFARS. Proven experience with federal regulations, government contracts, commercial contracts, counseling and advice, litigation, corporate transactions, compliance programs, and international law.
- Other Requirements: United States citizenship. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Domestic and international travel may be required. May work extended hours. Ability to access and perform work on U.S. military installations may be necessary.
