Assistant General Counsel, Employment Legal

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic legal partner for assigned centralized subject matters, including: Global benefits, leaves of absence and accommodations policies, performance and promotion programs, immigration escalations and policies, APAC, and M&A and workforce restructuring matters.
• Represent Intuit in employment claims, manage outside litigation counsel as needed.
• Support and/or lead special projects and initiatives as needs arise, including M&A and workforce restructuring matters.
• Deliver clear, practical, and business-oriented advice to enable smart risk-taking.
• Partner closely with Employment Legal team members to drive consistency, share expertise, and deliver coordinated support across client groups.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships and influence senior stakeholders.
• Use AI responsibly and proficiently to accelerate work and scale Legal services.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience advising on complex global workforce issues.
• In-house experience, preferably at a multi-national technology company.
• Extensive experience with employee benefits, including health and welfare plans, ERISA and 401(k) compliance, and executive compensation.
• Extensive experience with M&A and workforce restructuring.
• Strong employment litigation background.
• Comfort using generative AI tools and a willingness to adopt and champion responsible AI practices within the Legal function.
• International experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others in a team environment.
• Able to serve as a strategic advisor and influence successful outcomes with minimal supervision.
• Excellent in-house judgment and ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• Clear and concise communicator, with experience interfacing with senior executives.
• JD and active bar membership (California preferred).
• Strong personal ethical code and integrity; deep respect for privacy and confidentiality.

The Expected Base Pay Range For This Position Is Mountain View $266,000 - $360,000 San Diego, CA $245,000- $332,000.
