About the role

Seal Rock Healthcare, part of the Atlantic Heights Community, is a fully-licensed Medicaid/Medicare-certified facility offering 105 beds. Under the ownership of First Atlantic Healthcare, the Atlantic Heights Community follows in First Atlantic's long-standing reputation for excellence in long-term care, assisted living, and senior living.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of all areas of The Inn kitchen to include but is not limited to management of employees, day-to-day operations of meal service, and cooking.
  • Ensures that all meals are prepared according to the approved menus.
  • Aids in the purchasing/ordering and maintaining inventory according to the menu cycles.
  • Maintains food storage and proper rotation of food.
  • Manages the dining department employees, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Manages and oversees event catering and meals for Cottage residents.
  • Evaluates and maintains all equipment in the dietary department, including calling for repairs when needed.

Requirements

  • The Associate Food Service Director must be either Serv-Safe Certified or enrolled in the course for certification.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a kitchen and at least 5 years’ experience of hands-on culinary experience to fulfill the essential requirements of skill and function below.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience in ordering, storing, and preparing and serving meals according to the menu cycle.
  • Ability to ensure meals are served according to stated meal service times.
  • Ability to perform all essential tasks within the kitchen.
  • Experience in management, food sanitation, Federal & State regulations, and have computer knowledge.
  • Ability to assist in any food-related functions in addition to the normal meal service.
  • Availability to work a rotating weekend schedule.
