About the role
The Goddard School® located at: Knapp's Corner, Grand Rapids is seeking a motivated and caring Assistant Teacher!Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
- Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
- Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
- Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
- Adequately adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
- Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
Requirements
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Shows empathy and compassion for young children
- Works productively without supervision
- Basic understanding of child development
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
Qualifications
- Must pass required state background checks
- Meets state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
