About the role
The Assistant Fitness Manager (Personal Training Sales) is a highly motivated, sales-driven leader focused on conducting welcome workouts with new members, guiding their initial fitness experiences, and helping them start personal training programs. Reporting to the Fitness Manager, you’ll drive personal training sales and foster member relationships by working closely with the membership and personal training team to sell training packages and deliver exceptional service.
Responsibilities
- Ensure daily sales targets are met, especially during weekends or when the Fitness Manager is absent, by leading the team and driving sales initiatives.
- Drive sales by promoting personal training packages and building strong rapport with members.
- Achieve sales targets for personal training services and small group training sessions, consistently meeting or exceeding performance goals.
- Collaborate with the membership sales team to support new member onboarding, driving sales initiatives, and ensuring a smooth transition into the club experience.
- Conduct personalized welcome workouts for new members to evaluate their fitness needs and goals.
- Guide new members through their initial club experience, fostering a positive, supportive environment that promotes personal training sales, member retention, and engagement.
- Facilitate professional development for personal trainers through regular coaching sessions and continuous support.
- Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff, ensuring clarity on roles and responsibilities.
- Supervise facility maintenance and cleanliness, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain proper certifications, and implement safety protocols.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of customer service experience.
- 1 year of sales experience.
- 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Prior experience or strong interest in the fitness industry.
- Valid Personal Training certification.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Available to work nights and weekends.
- Must pass a background check.
- Ability to work in a gym setting, move about gym floors, and communicate with employees, members, and the public.
- Ability to bend routinely and repetitively, and lift more than 40 lbs.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to operate company computer systems.

Pay
$15–$15 USD per hour, with additional compensation opportunities including commission and bonuses.
