About The Farm

Hurtgen Meadows Farm is located two miles north of Hillsborough, NC. Four of the 14 acres are dedicated to vegetables, small fruits, and flowers. Sustainable farming practices are employed.

Job Description

Full-time position, 25-40 hours per week. Responsibilities include:

• Soil preparation
• Seeding and planting
• Watering and weeding
• Harvesting produce
• Preparing produce for market
• Staffing Saturday morning markets

The position involves learning and experiencing the full range of small produce-farm growing and marketing operations. Physical stamina and willingness to work in all safe weather conditions are essential. An inquisitive mind and a sense of humor are welcome assets. The position can start immediately and extend into the 2027 growing season.

Qualifications

Farm or related experience required. Expectations include hard work, team and individual participation, and adherence to farm protocols and standards. Small farm equipment handling experience is preferred.

Compensation

$17+/hr minimum. Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and access to farm produce for staff consumption. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and contributions to workload and workflow.
