Assistant Facility Security Officer

About the role

Stratolaunch is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join their team. The role involves assisting the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in implementing and managing the Security Program, overseeing industrial security operations, and ensuring compliance with security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the chief assistant to the FSO regarding security policy and procedures.
• Manages the processing of security clearance paperwork, including collecting and reviewing relevant documents.
• Maintains personnel security records and databases, including the fingerprinting process.
• Ensures compliance with security requirements for marking, handling, and safeguarding classified information.
• Implements Security Education, Training, and Awareness Programs.
• Executes visitor control functions, including processing of incoming and outgoing visit requests and verifying visitor identification.
• Verifies preparation of essential reports and troubleshoots industrial security issues.
• Provides assistance in resolving concerns and queries from government agencies and company management.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relative experience in defense contracting industry, U.S. military, or federal government.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Completed DSS FSO Program Management Course for Processing Facilities preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience as an AFSO preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience working in Special Access Programs (SAP) preferred.

Qualifications

• DCSA CDSE FSO Certified preferred (Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, Center for Development of Security Excellence, Facility Security Officer).
• Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
• Communication Security (COMSEC).
• Documentation Control and Accountability.
• Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA).
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Effective communicator.

Skills

• DCSA CDSE FSO Certification preferred.

Pay

$26.00-$46.40 hourly.

Schedule

Base salary and leveling are established on a case-by-case basis.

Additional Information

The position may involve the operation of company vehicles as part of assigned duties. Mojave Air & Spaceport is located just outside of Lancaster/Palmdale and is only 95 miles north of Los Angeles.
