Responsibilities

  • Assigns residents to Case Managers so that each resident receives program services defined by contract.
  • Conducts on-the-job training so that staff is able to perform to job standards.
  • Checks logs to ensure that activities have occurred and that the necessary information is recorded thoroughly and correctly.
  • Prepares monthly written report for Facility Director.
  • Makes sure all resident financial transactions are accurate and that residents comply with contract and program requirements.
  • Schedules line staff employees to ensure all shifts are adequately covered and meet contract requirements, keeping overtime at a minimum.
  • Makes employment interviews in accordance with Director of Human Resources procedures.
  • Provides leadership to peer or lower-classified employees through the assignment of work, monitoring of progress, review of results, and technical instruction or training.
  • Prepares performance evaluations on or before the due date.
  • Maintains confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents, and outside agencies so that sensitive information is only given on a "need to know" basis.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with five (5) years related experience, including one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • A bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of current management techniques.
  • Familiarity with correctional systems and current correctional practices.
  • Ability to write clear reports in English, using correct grammar.
  • Ability to delegate, plan, motivate, control, schedule, and train; effectively interface with residents and staff.
  • Proficiency in using computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
