Assistant Extension Agent, Ag (Assistant, Associate, Full Agent)

Position Information

The position is open for an Assistant, Associate, or Full Extension Agent specializing in Livestock, focusing on swine, cattle, goats, sheep, and forages/pasture management. The agent will lead educational programs and provide support to youth and adult audiences.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and implement educational programs and informational assistance related to livestock production and management.
• Work closely with the 4-H Agent to plan, implement, evaluate, and market a youth livestock program.
• Provide leadership in planning, implementing, evaluating, and marketing educational programs and activities.
• Develop innovative strategies for presenting educational programs to livestock producers, youth, and farm families.
• Supervise 0% of time spent.

Requirements And Preferences

• One of the following educational requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or 3.0 in an agricultural or related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and completion of at least half of coursework towards a Master’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in an agricultural or related field.
  • A completed Master’s degree in an agricultural or related field.
• Experience and knowledge in livestock production and youth livestock programming.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Appropriate computer skills.
