Assistant Environmental Specialist 3
About the role
GAI Consultants is seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team. This position will be performed remotely from the Northern Kentucky area.
Responsibilities
- Conduct stormwater and other regulated waters compliance monitoring field assessments including erosion and sediment control inspection, stormwater pollution prevention plan modifications, and documentation of environmental resources for energy-related projects.
- Aid in the compilation of data and preparation of weekly reports and permitting documents as directed by Task Managers and Project Managers.
- Complete construction inspections, erosion control monitoring, and environmental marking and staking.
- Aid with field data collection and wetland delineations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Ecology, Engineering, Biology, or Environmental Science; advanced degree a plus.
- 3-4 years of experience commensurate with environmental consulting practices with a background in environmental science, ecology, or construction inspection services.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Advanced technical writing ability.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills a must.
- Travel within Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky is a requirement and extended field assignments are likely.
- Knowledge and experience with erosion and sedimentation control monitoring and construction inspections on linear projects is preferred.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Current Driver’s License is required.

- Possesses basic skills; follows procedures; learns record keeping protocols; general topographic and arial photograph reading experience; learns technical literature basics; available for frequent travel and field work.
- Minimum Years Of Experience: 3 to 4 Years of Experience.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences or similar field of study.
- Certification/Licensure: Driver’s License required.
